We held our February event at Kechara tea house last weekend. The team behind the cafe concept wanted to create a healthy, vegetarian cafe with simple but delicious meals, they have a wide selection of teas and tea concoctions, and salads and desserts.
Our group had a set menu which included a tea, soup, main course and dessert and we were all thoroughly stuffed and totally satisfied! I had the vegetarian lasagne, and I must say it was one of the best lasagnes i’ve ever had. A perfect ratio of pasta, sauce, vegetables and cheese. Really really recommend it. It’s also a decent portion size.

They only have one soup on the menu, a miso soup with mushrooms, silken tofu and seaweed, again a very good portion size, and it was perfect for a cold winters day. Nice balance of flavours and not too salty which is great.

I ordered the revitalise tea, which was nice and the flavours got better as the ingredients brewed. However I must say that a few of the others ordered a ginger winter warming drink which came in a glass, and that was SO GOOD. Slightly sweet with the molasses, and plenty of shreds of ginger, delicious!
I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee at the end of the meal, i’m not a big coffee drinker but I do like the flavours and sweetness of a good Vietnamese coffee, definitely recommend that too.
Desserts weren’t bad, the Jasmine cheesecake was a good texture but not a strong Jasmine flavour…..the chocolate cake that some of the others ordered was good, I couldn’t resist a taste.

Overall I would definitely go back, the drinks menu is awesome, the main meals were worth a repeat visit, all the dishes are reasonably priced, and everything is vegetarian! (if you are vegan there are some options too, just ask the waitstaff)
